These are a a crunchy change of pace from the usual veggie and fruit snacks. I frequently use the flaxseed crackers for my daily fiber instead of placing the seeds in my smoothie.

I tried this recipe today and it was a lot easier than expected. The smell coming from the oven was heavenly. Once it was done I topped it with tuna salad and it was really delicious! Love this recipe.

Thank you for the recipe. What is the serving size for phase 1 and 2?

Hi Mindy! 1 cracker = about 1 tablespoon of flaxseeds. You are allowed 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds a day, so 2 crackers would meet your daily allowance.

Can you eat these crackers while on the smoothie shakedown? Also, can these be bought at a health food store as opposed to making them yourself?

Hi Stephanie! They are Shakedown-approved! 🙂 (http://www.smoothieshakedown.com/flaxseed-crackers/) You can probably find them in a health food store, but be very diligent when checking ingredients. (Does their product also contain just 3 ingredients? And are all ingredients Shakedown-approved?) Best of luck!

Hi Nansie! Check out the ingredients- if they are all Shakedown-approved, then have at it! (Remember to avoid artificial flavor, added sodium, and chemicals.)

I thought that heat destroyed the nutrients in flaxseeds…

The seeds are more stable than the oil and can be heated to moderate temperatures. You are correct that the oil should not be heated! Great question, Lisa!
